Be With Me II
Kevin's post inspired me to watch Be With Me. I mean...it's not very often that we see our Number 6 'reviewing' a film. In fact, this has to be the first time on our blog. So I reckon that there has to be something magical abt Be With Me that brought us a much-awaited new post on our blog.
I watched the film with Yeejia n came out of the theatre feeling slightly melachony. Be With Me triumphs in the fact that it was deliberately paced slowly, so that it allows its audience to reflect on our lives as the story unravels. It's somewhat similar to films like Before Sunrise and Crash...you don't get the feel-good feeling after watching them, but you feel human. Or more precisely, you feel the want to be more human.
Anyway, my favourite characters are the old man and the fat man. If you haven't watched it yet, make time for it. It can't be lousy if two brothers say it's good=)
Be With Me
Long time no blog again, busy - like most pple, i guess...
Yesterday I caught the Eric Khoo show Be With Me. Just tot I'd recommend it... halfway thru the show was thinking that it was just so-so, at the end changed my personal rating to "not bad" and then a few hours later at home I decided it was actually really good.
If u haven't read the reviews, it's abt a blind woman coping with her difficulties, plus a couple of what I see to be subplots abt a security guard in love with an office lady and a lesbian couple in love. The main story alone is worth watching, while I think the security guard one is quite a good condemnation of social worth. The lesbian one is simply surplus to me, tho prob the director just wanted to make his point more "complete".
Anyway my point is, do make time for it, even if the cinematic aesthetics may not be ur cup of tea. Given our hectic lifestyles and misplaced priorities these days, the tale is a timely reminder of what's really important and knowing when it's time to let go. I would think I was inspired... even if only briefly, haha.
There's little reason not to be happy... Let's partieeeee!
P/S: Looking forward to KH's return already... with expensive gifts of course. Better make sure u post ur Austria journeys here when you're there, with pics k!
busy again....
well haven't been doing posting for sometimes.. just to update u whats happening ard since i become the only ptw in ntu (the other ones still haven't fly..duh). EEE is really tough, as in i can actually go into a lecture room with an intention to learn but comes out not knowing anything. This could probably be due to the fact that i have trouble understand their language before i attempt to understand any concepts. Freaking sianz man... hope the rest of my engine bros are experiencing better situation over nus. Anyway, think this could be my last year staying in hall liaoz. Its seems that everything that is happening now has a de javu effect. Its just the same activities, just different face. But think going for one more round of cheerleading, not that i am really enthu abt the whole affair. But my hall has no one to teach, just hope that i am good enough for them. Last but not least, i really miss my roomie. The current one likes to lock me out of my room and pass cynical remarks. Its really quite frustrating but with the training i had from fellow bros from suaning, think i possess the ability to endure till he graduates.
