Chicken or Egg first?

cnn (not enn) seems to have an answer.

day 2 photos

i have posted the day 2 photos. Basically, they're all from visit to the angkor temples, which set us back by US$20 each for entrance...not including the US$20 that we had to fork out for the taxi. Photos can be found at the same link as before.

For a better understanding of the current situation in timor leste, chk out this blog: http://timorsunshine.blogspot.com/2006/05/crackling-through-air.html

the author is a SIF volunteer who was in timor leste and probably still is. Decide for yourself how committed our govt is in rescuing us from danger.

flickr it lah!

I've subsribed to an account with flickr. They have a limit as to the amt of file sizes that I can upload a month so I've only uploaded a few photos of my first day in Cambodia. The photos can be viewed at:

enjoy.

2 new posts in a day...A RECORD!

I guess this has to be a record...comme on man, our blog having 2 new posts in a day! haha...and our average usually doesn't even surpassed 2 posts in a month loh.

but anyway, kevin, i didn't pay too much attention to the photo initially since u said u took it from a photography magazine...so i expect it to be of a high standard. now that u mention it was u who had captured the photo...woah, i tink u can work for PhotographyLife man...if the magazine ever exists...haha...to think i was once the official photographer of ptws, now i'll have to relinquish my position.

jus some useful info for all of u who intend to go on budget travels during the hols, my camsouviet trip sets me back by $710. Excluding souvenirs, we spent $580 (so u know wat u're gg to receive came at a high price) If we had bought our air tickets earlier, it would have been less than $500. I would say that it was incredibly cheap for 12 days in cambodia n vietnam...and it was not like we were starving or staying in some leaking hotels. I would have posted a few photos of the trip if i know how, so until i figure out how to do it...i can onli say that I had a fun time there...n I learnt more history of the 2 countries than i ever knew from history classes in Singapore.

Also, i found someone who did Tokyo, Japan for 10days for less than $1000. 2 yrs ago, jiap, giap, guan n i wanted to go japan for $1500 and we tot it was impossible so we went taiwan for 5 days for the same amt instead. now, $1000 n u can do japan. super cheap sia! u can chk out this website as he details all his expenditure...terseandatlarge.blogspot.com

hopefully the kev n ton's qiaing session on tues will materialize!

Sad

Here's the "interesting shot" as Honn mentioned for those who haven't clicked into the photo site. I just put it in my post cos pictures make the blog look more lively in my opinion haha.

Recently I've had some reasons to be sad, and here they are.

First off, my results suck. No, they're not the usual so-so/barely made it/not too good... I really bombed this time. And to think I was pretty confident, I don't understand why. None of my modules' results matched my expectation. Having gotten over it, I realised the good thing is I finally fell so far that I cannot climb back and can take it easy from now on. School's gonna be much more relaxing.

Ok, that's probably the only real reason to be sad. Next reason is we did not meet on Saturday despite much promise and potential shown in the discussions. I think Giap is especially disappointed about the outcome haha. So is Tuesday gonna be on? If everyone can make it, Ton and I will decide a place and time to meet... right Ton? So try to reply if u can by tomorrow nite k then probably I'll msg u all on Tues morning.

Lastly, I'm sad cos no one realised my April Fool's post was not at all true. Shaopeng was the closest to realising cos of the name (Yi Chong Lie). That's my name alright cos I took the photo but did not win an award nor is there a magazine called PhotographyLife. And if you look real close, at the bottom right hand corner of the picture it says "PTW: Happy April Fool's!" But since it wasn't important I didn't mention this earlier... haha.

Ok, time to sleep early cos got work tomorrow. Oh crap, one more reason to be sad...

CSV (cambodia-southern vietnam)

Da Jia,

The traveller in me awoke 2 wks ago. In a moment of impulse, despite being as broke as the brokeback cowboys of Lee Ang, I agreed to escape to CSV with jeff.

Money matters would be thrown aside for the next 12 days. I'm praying for an adventure and i'll let you all know if i get 1 when i'm back.

I'm also praying for a liverpool win tonite. So far, the omens had not been encouraging. Let's hope someone up there hears my prayers.

Byebye.
